How to change or delete data you've uploaded to Placemaker

This article is for Placemaker customers.

Show, restyle or remove the layers your organisation has uploaded

Every upload in your organisation is listed in the Your data panel. Use it to show a layer on the map, change how it looks, or delete it when it's out of date.

Note: you can change a layer's name, label, pop-up fields and colour. You can't edit the data itself. To update it, delete the layer and upload the new file.

Steps

Show an uploaded layer on the map

Open Locations: in the toolbar on the left of the map, select the Locations icon (the map pin).
Tick the layer: uploaded layers are listed with a 'Your data' tag. Tick the box next to the layer's name to show it. Untick it to hide it.

Change how a layer looks

Open Your data: in the toolbar on the left of the map, select the Your data icon (the cylinder, below Base maps).
Open the layer's menu: select the three dots on the layer's card, then select Configure.
Make your changes:
- Layer name: the name shown in the Locations and Your data panels
- Label by: the field used to label each point on the map
- Attributes shown on click: up to 10 fields to show in the pop-up when someone selects a point
- Colour: show every point in one colour, or colour points by a field. You can colour by any field with fewer than 10 different values.
The previews update as you go.
Save: select Save.

Delete a layer

Open Your data and select the three dots on the layer's card.
Select Delete.

What to expect

After Configure, the layer shows its new name, label and colours wherever it appears, for everyone in your organisation.
After Delete, the layer is removed from the Your data panel and the Locations panel for everyone in your organisation.
