How to request access to restricted features for someone outside your organisation

How you can organise access to restricted features for consultants and other third parties working with your organisation

This article is for staff at subscribing organisations who need to arrange access to restricted features for someone outside their organisation, such as a consultant working on a Council project.

Before you begin

You'll need:

  • Their full name and email address
  • The reason access is required (for example, the project they're working on)
  • The duration of access required (for example, until the end of the project or contract period)

Steps

  1. Confirm the third party needs subscriber-only features. Only request third-party access if their work requires features that aren't available to the general public – for example, the Population Forecast Data Exporter or the Economic Profile impact calculators.

  2. Contact your regional Client Services Manager or .id support. Reach out to your regional Client Services Manager directly, or email us at support@id.com.au. Your requestion should include the following.

    • The consultant's (or other third party's) name and email address

    • The reason access is required

    • The duration of access required (for example, until the end of the project or contract period)

  3. Wait for .id to confirm. .id will review the request and let you know when access has been granted. The third party can then sign up for an .id account (if they haven't already) and log in to see the subscriber-only features.

What to expect

Once access is granted, the third party can sign up or log in using their own email or Microsoft account. They'll see the subscriber-only features included in your subscription for the duration agreed. After the agreed duration, the user will to return to public access only.

Troubleshooting

  • If the third party can't see the subscriber-only features after access is granted, ask them to sign out and back in. If the features still aren't visible, contact .id support at support@id.com.au.
