How to log in to Placemaker

Learn how to log in to Placemaker at app.id.com.au using your work email or Microsoft account, and what to do if you have trouble signing in.

This guide explains how to sign in to your Placemaker account. You will need an active account to access Placemaker. If you do not yet have access, see How do I get access to an .id product?.

Before You Begin

  • You need an active Placemaker account. Contact your .id account manager if you are unsure whether your organisation has access.
  • Placemaker runs in a web browser. No software installation is required.

Steps

  1. Go to Placemaker: Open your web browser and navigate to app.id.com.au.
  2. Choose your login method: Placemaker offers two ways to sign in.

Option A — Work email (recommended):

Enter your work email address and click 'Continue with email'. Placemaker will send a verification link to that address. Open the email and click the link to complete sign in.

Option B — Microsoft SSO:

If your organisation uses Microsoft, click 'Log in with Microsoft' and sign in with your Microsoft credentials.

If you are unsure which method to use, start with your work email.

You are signed in:
Once the verification link is clicked or your Microsoft sign in is confirmed, Placemaker will open automatically.

What to Expect

After signing in you will be taken to the Catchments List view. Your saved catchments will load automatically. From here you can open an existing catchment, create a new catchment, or explore the map.

Troubleshooting

I did not receive a verification email. Check your spam or junk folder first. If it is not there, return to the login screen and request a new link. If you still do not receive it, contact support.

I was signed in previously but have been logged out. Placemaker signs you out automatically after 7 days. Sign in again using the steps above.

I use the Local Government Suite. Do I need to sign in to Placemaker separately? Yes. Placemaker is a separate product with its own login. Sign in at app.id.com.au to confirm your access.

I am getting an error when I try to sign in. See I can't log in to Placemaker for common causes and fixes.
