How to edit a catchment in Placemaker

Learn how to edit a saved catchment in Placemaker, including how to rename it, update the boundary and change the drive time or radius.

This guide explains how to make changes to a saved catchment in Placemaker. Editing a catchment reopens it in the catchment creation panel where you can adjust the boundary and rename it.

You can edit a catchment from two places in Placemaker: the Catchments list or the Insights page.

Steps from the Catchments list

  1. Go to the Catchments home screen: Navigate to app.id.com.au. Your saved catchments appear in the Catchments list.
  2. Open the catchment menu: Click the (more actions) button at the end of the catchment row.
  3. Select Edit: Click Edit from the menu.
  4. Update the catchment: The catchment opens in the map editor. You can click SA1 areas on the map to add or remove them, update the catchment name, or preview a different drive time or radius distance. Note: you cannot reposition the original location point. To change the starting location, create a new catchment.
  5. Save your changes: Click Save and view catchment insights to save and return to the Insights page.

Steps from the Insights page

  1. Click 'Edit catchment' in the breadcrumb navigation at the top of the Insights page.
  2. The catchment opens in the map editor. Update the boundary or name as needed, then save.

What to Expect

The catchment is updated immediately. The revised boundary and name will appear in the Catchments list and on the Insights page.
