How to delete a catchment in Placemaker
Learn how to permanently remove a saved catchment from your Placemaker account. A deleted catchment cannot be restored later.
This guide explains how to permanently remove a saved catchment from your Placemaker account.
Deleting a catchment is permanent. The catchment and all associated data will be removed and cannot be recovered. If you are unsure, consider editing the catchment instead.
Steps

Go to the Catchments home screen: Navigate to app.id.com.au. Your saved catchments appear in the Catchments list.

Open the catchment menu: Click the ⋮ (more actions) button at the end of the catchment row.

Select 'Delete': Click Delete from the menu.

Confirm deletion: A Delete catchment dialog will appear: "Are you sure you want to delete catchment name? This action cannot be undone." Click Delete to permanently remove the catchment, or Cancel to go back.
What to Expect
The catchment is permanently removed from the Catchments list. This action cannot be undone.
Troubleshooting
- No Delete option visible: Check you are looking at the ⋮ menu on the correct catchment row.
- Accidentally deleted a catchment: Deletion is not reversible. You will need to recreate the catchment. See How to create a catchment in Placemaker.
- Insights page shows an error after deletion: If you had the Insights page open for a deleted catchment, you will see an error stating the catchment is no longer available.
